Yoga For You

Based in Dynamic Hatha Yoga (literally meaning sun/moon yoga), this class builds upon foundations of direct action and self–inquiry through asana (postures), Pranayama (breath) and meditation. In all EL Yoga classes, students are observed so that real time instruction can reflect and enhance the practice. We believe and teach in a way that shows the yoga is for EVERY BODY and we offer have ample time to settle into postures and find your breath.

Mondays: FREE practice at Craighead County Public Library in Jonesboro at 5:00pm

Wednesdays: 6:00pm

Saturdays: yoga & Meditation at 10:00am

Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal yoga is specifically designed for mother’s to be and is also open to postnatal practitioners looking to ease their way back into their former yoga practice. This class is excellent for mind, body, and baby. You will have a chance to be with other expecting mother’s and freely discuss issues and concerns as well as the happiness and excitement that you may be experiencing as you move through the various stages of pregnancy. We will address common aches and pains and use postures that will aid in digestion, help circulation, increase your day to day comfort. Yoga can help alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy such as nausea, constipation, varicose veins, swelling, back pain and sciatica.

This practice will also calm your mind and reduce stress, help you find balance emotionally, and give you time to connect with your body and your baby.

Open to all stages of pregnancy. No prior yoga experience necessary.

Restorative Yoga

Join Alisa Spence as she shares what she’s been learning with long-time Restorative Yoga teacher and author, Judith Lasater. No prior experience or yoga knowledge necessary…just the willingness to relax and be supported! This class happens once a month or in a 6 week series format.

What is Restorative Yoga?
  • A practice focused on deep relaxation in silence, using props to support the body in gentle, opening poses rather than stretches.
  • Designed to encourage stillness and mental clarity while promoting physical healing and down-regulating the nervous system.
  • Informed by yogic wisdom, physiology, brain science, and a deep understanding of the body’s stress response.
Who is Restorative Yoga for?
  • Anyone seeking deep rest and relaxation, regardless of age, body type, or experience.
  • Individuals experiencing burnout, overwhelm, or anxiety who need a grounding practice to reset and recharge.
  • Students dealing with chronic pain, injury, or fatigue who need gentle, supportive techniques for healing.
What are the benefits of Restorative Yoga?
  • Activates the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing stress and physical tension.
  • Supports overall health, which may include reducing blood pressure, improving fertility, immunity, and digestive health.
  • Enhances sleep quality, mental clarity, and emotional balance. (Info from Judith Lasater’s website)

This is the practice that will take you beyond thinking and doing and help you find peace, calm, stillness and relaxation. In this Restorative Yoga series, there are just a few postures – each fully supported by props with plenty of time for sinking in and settling a busy mind. Each participant will be asked to fill out an in-take form and the most beneficial postures will chosen based on the information submitted.

The series is limited to 8 participants and registration is required to secure your spot.

This class happens once a month or in a 6 week series format.
